Do you think gun control laws will keep guns out of the hands of criminals?

Drugs are illegal, and people get drugs. Do you think a criminal considers gun laws before he commits a crime?Do you think gun control laws will keep guns out of the hands of criminals?
No. Gun control laws will keep guns out of the hands of honest people. Criminals will always have access to guns. Several states have a concealed carry law, and I am all for that. As long as you can pass the background check, you can actually carry a gun. Criminals hesitate to attack someone, or try to carjack, when they realize that there are other people carrying guns. Gun control laws only help criminals.Do you think gun control laws will keep guns out of the hands of criminals?
Of course not.

Gun control is a good idea on paper, but in reality, cannot work.
Hell we can't even keep illegals out of the country how do they think they will keep guns from criminals.?
Absolutely not. A criminal does not care what the laws are, they are criminals, they will break the law by whatever means. The current gun laws only put restraints on law abiding citizens. Case in point...England has EXTREMELY stiff gun laws. A criminal in England gets their illegal gun AND breaks into a home because a law abiding citizen cannot have one! How is that for making the picking easy! The only thing a criminal considers before their crime, is who will be their victim for the day, not ';how much time will I do because I violated the gun law.';
Haha good point. No gun control laws are stupid, lets have every good man have a gun so they can stop all the bad men.
The only kind of gun control that will reduce crime is being able to return fire and hit your target.
they haven't worked so far. criminals can buy guns on the street, just like drugs. and criminals don't consider gun laws before committing a crime. same as drugs. we have to remember that guns don't kill people;people kill people. we need to have tougher laws for anyone convicted of a crime with a gun. and as far as background checks for purchasing a gun, there shouldn't be any loopholes. example: the nut case who shot and wounded/killed the Virginia tech students. his mental background wasn't checked. this should be mandatory in all states.
If owning guns is a crime then only criminals will have guns.

Just look what happened to Australia after they criminalized gun ownership.
of cource not!

i know someone who illegialy imports guns and opium directily from the middle east and he sells to anyone.

gun laws cant stop people from geting guns.
I equate gun control laws with the laws that they have just enacted about the cold medications that can be turned into meth.

The people who are making the meth are still getting the medications, and the only people who are being inconvenienced by the law, are the law abiding citizens.

It's going to be the same way with gun control laws.
Its not a question of eliminating ALL gun crimes. If guns are much harder to get there will be a drastic DECLINE in gun crimes which would be good for the country.
Yes, if they want to abide by the law.
Three things you are overlooking:

1. Yes gun control laws will keep guns out of criminals hands, because the great majority of guns on the black market get there after they are stolen from the houses of well meaning gun owners.

2. The majority of gun related deaths are people who owned the gun that was used, i.e. in crimes of passion, or accidental discharge. This is not common knowledge because the media has a tendency to cover ';street'; crime over domestic accidents or domestic disputes.

3. The states that support free ownership of guns have no less, and in some cases more, violent crime than states that are against gun owner ship. Some quick and easy examples: Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, etc.
