Do you feel like the government is slowly taking the control and freedom out of the people's hands?

or does that just sound like a conspiracy theory to you? I am interested in honest opinions please.Do you feel like the government is slowly taking the control and freedom out of the people's hands?
I absoutely do think so. I can't even refill my prescriptions more than once without having to mail it in to a specific pharmacy. I find that controlling %26amp; annoying. It's just one of the things I feel that I don't have a choice about. Of course I can fill it at the local pharmacy but my insurance won't pay for it. Our water bill is going up from $50 to $80 with no input from the customers whatsoever. The city just decides it wants to raise our water rates by 50 percent so they take out an ad in the newspaper. And, it was only a couple years ago that the water rates doubled. We have no say in the matter, we just have to pay it or we won't get any water. I could go on %26amp; on, but who has time. I'm just sick of all the crap.Do you feel like the government is slowly taking the control and freedom out of the people's hands?
Our government cannot take anything that we don't give them willingly.
Yes, i think they are very slowly taking away our freedom.
As my boyfriend would say, it's all conspiracy an no theory. =]
The Goverment isnt taking the control we are handing it over. The problem with today's society is that there is a lack of personal responsiblity. People either do not want to or choose not to be responsible for their own lives and the lives of their children therefore the goverment has to step in and make dumb laws so that these people don't hurt themselves or others. I mean think about it. A person walks into McDonalds and buys a Big Mac combo meal supersized. This person does this a few times a week and gains weight. All of the sudden this person wants to now sue McDonalds for making them fat. All that McDonalds did was provide a service they didn't hold a gun to anyones head and force feed them. But because this person cannot control his/her diet there are now laws saying that certain things cannot be put into fast food. The moral of this story is this. Once people start taking responsiblity for their actions the goverment will no longer have to butt into our personal lives
More like there taking over business from business's' hands

You have to have a license permit and insurance to do anything anymore
It's mainly because people don't want to take responsibility %26amp; immediately start pointing fingers saying the government should have taken action to prevent this %26amp; that.

A lot of people complain about the government %26amp; we CAN do something about it but people these days are too lazy.

One person can only do so much...
