Locks only keep the honest people out? Like gun control laws only keep guns out of honest peoples hands?

Not exactly. Both locks and gun control laws will deter those who aren't very dedicated or persistent in their pursuit of mischief.Locks only keep the honest people out? Like gun control laws only keep guns out of honest peoples hands?
It also protects against children accidentally finding guns and playing with them. To me, the main reason to lock up a gun isn't to keep the devoted criminal from getting it. It is to keep kids from getting it. Also, there are a large majority of criminals who will break into a house just to get some quick stuff and get out quick. If a gun is locked, they will be less likely to take it.Locks only keep the honest people out? Like gun control laws only keep guns out of honest peoples hands?
Not even. I know someone with a licensed gun, whose friend shot himself in the leg.

Even a good guy can let the wrong person handle it.

Thank god no one was more seriously hurt.
You don't actually believe that, do you? Honest people don't need to go where there are locks; they don't even try to get in. Honest people don't need guns, either.
is this a question or something you just felt like saying?
Locks, rules, laws etc. aren't intended for the honest, because the honest will be honest with out them. We make them for the opportunists. Those are the people who see an opportunity, like an unlocked car door, and take advantage of it.
no I disagree

locks keep accidents from happening

like kids getting into them or a dumb drunk friend that decides to play with one

locks are good

but I kinda agree with you on gun control laws to an extent...but you have to make some effort to control them
Agreed. Please note the recent shootings at the churches. The person who took down the gun man was NOT a security guard, but a volunteer who was licensed to carry a hand gun. She saved many lives for it.
